This August, I'm participating in Raise + Ride to fundraise for Phoenix Bikes, an Arlington nonprofit that uniquely combines youth education programs with a full service bike shop.
At its heart, Phoenix Bikes educates youth in grades 6-12 in bike mechanics. Check this out:
Phoenix Bikes teaches bike mechanics to youth for FREE!
The first bike a kid fixes up gets donated to a community member in need. We call this Give-a-Bike!
The second bike, the youth mechanic gets to keep it! We call this Earn-a-Bike!
Phoenix offers additional programs encouraging youth to get out riding, racing, and giving back to the community with their new skills. This is all combined with a full-service bike shop that offers quality, affordable products (received through donations!) & services, the proceeds for which support the youth programs.
Every donation helps us keep Phoenix programs 100% FREE! Thank you for giving to a cause so near and dear to me!
