Beginning in the early 2000's, Chris Dischinger with his company LDG Development started on his "new" career, building affordable housing in Kentucky and eight other states for those in need, operating with the philosophy "Everyone deserves a quality place to live". Twenty years later, LDG is the largest affordable multi-family housing developer in the United States. In 2008, Don Erler took the reins of the newly created Fuller Center for Housing of Louisville, assembled a large inventory of bank owned homes, following the housing crisis, to be renovated and sold to families in need on terms they could afford with no profit and no interest, and with Millard Fuller's philosophy "Everyone deserves a decent place to live". Today the Fuller Center for Housing has been able to help many, many families "own" the home they live in.
Both Chris and Don were introduced to St. John Center over 10 years ago and quickly became familiar with the passionate, quality staff and volunteers of this incredible organization. St. John Center is a critical mission based organization to help homeless men find their way off the street, into permanent housing and on their way to lives with new meaning. We not only want to help raise funds for this mission critical organization, but more important, introduce you, your family and your friends to St. John Center, so you too can become passionate about what they can do for the most vulnerable and most in need in Louisville.
For the past 14 years, Raisin the Rent live event party has been a huge part of the St. John Center annual budget. This year, with Covid restrictions, the event has gone virtual with 30+ "parties" assembling to continue this support for providing support for men in need and defeating homelessness in our community. Join the Dischinger Erler Party by making a contribution of $35 per person or more so St. Johns Center can continue this very important social work. Be a part of the biggest and most generous party in this effort by Raisin' the Rent. Also check out the Silent Auction and Raffle items (remember we won the Churchill Finish Line suite 2 years ago - FUN).
Thanks for your support. Chris & Don
