It has been my honor to serve on the board of the St. John Center for the last year and a half. In that time, I have learned so much about homelessness and the various causes; understanding that people rarely become homeless because of just one singular incident, rather it is most often due both personal and systemic issues. The mission of St. John Center is to address the barriers to housing so that homelessness can be left for good. My eyes and heart have been opened to a growing problem faced by far too many and it takes all of us to make a difference.
"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." ~Albert Einstein
