As you probably know, I’m a Junior Board member for an incredible organization called Read Ahead. Read Ahead pairs volunteer mentors with over 750 elementary school students to help enhance their reading skills, build their self-confidence and love of reading, and so much more. 

Over the next few days, our Junior Board is working hard to raise $50,000 during our #GivingTuesday campaign, which will ensure that Read Ahead’s new virtual program can reach as many children as possible this school year. With new technology platforms and an educator-designed curriculum, Read Ahead will match children with supportive mentors for fun, live program sessions that build connection, confidence, literacy skills, and more.

The need for Read Ahead has never been more urgent. Since 1991, Read Ahead has connected public elementary school students with caring mentors from leading corporate and community partners. During weekly Read Ahead sessions, mentors support children to grow their confidence, love of reading, motivation, and other skills essential for success.
