Summer is here which means...
It's time for the 2024 CHIME Read-a-Thon!
June 8- August 11

The CHIME summer Read-a-Thon invites students to log summer reading time and raise money to support our library.

Our library at CHIME Institute’s Schwarzenegger Community School is an integral part of our inclusive education model. The library strives to provide diverse resources and materials that support the varied learning styles and needs of our student body, including accessible materials like audiobooks, expanding our collection of large-print texts, books in other languages, and more, ensuring students with diverse learning needs can thrive. This aligns with our commitment to fostering an environment where every student feels supported and valued.

Get started by registering today! You can even start a team with siblings or friends. Once you register, set a reading and fundraising goal. Start reading and don't forget to log your minutes each week with this form. Off the grid or can't get online to log your minutes? Use this form to keep track of your time and enter it in when you're able.

Next, ask your friends and family to support your reading and the library by making a donation. You can ask them to donate a flat rate or an amount for every minute or book you read.

We’re also going to celebrate all your hard work with some fun incentives and prizes. The more you read, the more you get. 

Reading Incentives

• 100 min: Pencil featuring library designs
• 500 min: Bookmark
• 1,000 min: Library/Book themed button 
• 1,500 min: Booklight
• 2,000 min: Your stuffy/action figure sleepover in the library
• 4,000 min: You get to check out 6 books at a time
• 8,000 min: Run the library check out desk
• 12,000 min: Librarian for the day

Prizes for the Top 3 Readers
The top 3 readers with the most minutes for all of Elementary & Middle School: 

• 1st place: $75 gift card to B&N & Read-a-Thon certificate
• 2nd place: $50 gift card to B&N & Read-a-Thon certificate
• 3rd place: $25 gift card to B&N & Read-a-Thon certificate
