There's nothing like the waxy scent of a fresh box of crayons, the satisfying screech of zipping closed your new backpack, and the confidence that comes from your brand-new first day fit.
All children deserve access to quality learning tools, clean clothes and shoes, and hygiene items like deodorant and shampoo for all hair types — not just on the first day, but throughout the year. Your donation helps us bulk-order name brand supplies at a discounted rate in a variety of colors, sizes, and types to help avoid stigma for children that need assistance.
There are so many non-academic barriers to success at school: food and housing insecurity, incarcerated care-givers, mental health disorders, and more. CIS places full-time social workers in their own classroom on campus to provide a safe space to address these needs with students. The Ready for School Drive helps stock a school's CIS room with supplies & basic needs items, so we can make sure our kids are clean, clothed and fed before starting work on needs that exist below the surface.
