Each year my sailing club, Western Carolina Sailing Club, hosts the Hospice Regatta.  This is a nationwide event hosted by sailing clubs to raise money for local hospices.  Proceeds from our regatta go the “Hospice of the Upstate” which provides services to residents in across the upstate of South Carolina.   If you have ever experienced the care, compassion and support that hospice provides to both the patient and the family you know what a worthy and important role they play. Both of my parents and my siblings have benefited from Hospice.

I will be sailing my Ultimate 24 for the rd straight year. We hope to improve on our performance from last year when we finished th in the Keelboat A fleet.  The name E'alu' means "Escape" in old Irish or it also means "Ale" in old English.
