Annual Online Auction to Support the Mission of RICKY Inc.

It is our goal at Ricky, Inc. to support people who are suffering from homelessness, substance use disorder and/or mental health issues. We have been distributing backpacks since March 2020 filled with essential personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shave cream, razors, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, condoms, body wash, hand warmers, foot powder, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and much more.

We also provide an extensive resource guide detailing Detox or acute treatment services, stabilization programs, TSS programs, men and women recovery homes, medicated assisted treatment, youth, transition age youth, self help groups, mental health resources, housing resources, hotlines and helplines all throughout Massachusetts. When serving certain organizations we include specific resources to support their community. For example, when visiting Veterans Hospitals, mother and child reunification programs, LGBTQ programs, and other such programs, we include resources that may be helpful specific to them. We include pamphlets on how to recognize an overdose and steps to take, where and how to obtain Narcan throughout Massachusetts. We include the MA "Good Samaritan Law" and how the law protects victims and those who call 911 for help. As we grow we hope to include blankets and tents to people that living situations may require them. In the future, we hope to start sponsoring people entering recovery homes that have a financial need. This may look like paying their first month's rent, including a backpack that includes one outfit suitable for an interview, and a food card that would help get through the first month at the recovery home.

After losing our son Ricky we have experienced love and support in many unexpected places. We are grateful for the compassion, understanding, and generosity we have received during the most difficult time a parent could live through. And for this we are eternally grateful.

The most important part of our journey with Ricky Inc. is the privilege of talking to the people we have the honor of meeting. Whether it is a staff member, meeting a person when doing street outreach that is homeless, or talking to the men and women while visiting a detox. They hear our story and we are honored that they share their story with us. With love and gratitude, The Giacoppo Family, always in the name of our beautiful son, Ricky.

Ricky, Inc. is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and maintains an IRS Federal Tax and a Massachusetts DOR State Tax Exemption status. We are a 100% volunteer organization and all monies raised are used to purchase the materials for distribution. Anyone suffering from homelessness, mental illness or substance use disorder, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, disability, faith or religion is eligible to receive our assistance.
