You’re invited to join us for a fundraising event this Fall! Montefiore Nyack Foundation will host its 4th annual Rides & Strides on Saturday, October 25th at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, NY. This event benefitting The Breast Center at Montefiore Nyack will offer participants from the Rockland County community and beyond the opportunity to come together for a great cause while enjoying exclusive access to a family run/walk and cycling event in one of the most beautiful areas of the Hudson Valley.
One in eight women in the United States will have breast cancer in their lifetime. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been affected by this disease. When detected early, breast cancer survival rates are very high, but not every woman has access to important mammogram screening services. Current Cancer Services programs funded by the state for the underinsured, uninsured, and medically underserved only provide annual mammograms for patients over 50 and mammograms every two years for women 40 to 49.
Proceeds from Rides & Strides will ensure that more women have access to the screening services they need on an annual basis. Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide screening services for 400 additional women next year. We hope we can count on you to support this important effort.
