I feel a strong connection with the roots of this event and continue to feel that the Emergency Medicines Fund is a worthy recipient of funds raised.  The extreme physical commitment that the Ridge-A-Thon requires serves to remind me how lucky my family and I are to have our good health and health insurance in the event that it was to fail us.  Unfortunately, the basic human right to good health and health care are not a given in our community and I like to think that our collective efforts through the Ridge-A-Thon can make a difference to those less fortunate.
