Going back hundreds of years, both sides of my family are of Scottish origin and darn proud of it!  Many a kilt has been worn by the clan and this event provides one more wonderful opportunity to do so.  Combining this background with my 43 years working in the health care industry made “Men it Kilts” an obvious event in which to participate.  The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), through their facilities and partnership with hospitals throughout the country provide comfort and services to families and patients who often have no other place to which they can turn.  The mission of RMHC is one which I fully support, and I welcome the contributions and donations to this event that will ensure the RMHC mission continues to be successful.  Thank you so much for your support.

On a more personal level, the Kilts for Kids participants receive 1 vote for every $25 raised to compete for and be recognized as the annual Kilts for Kids fundraising champion.  As a true Scot I take this challenge seriously, while several other contestants are ‘non Scots’ and see this event primarily as a thinly veiled excuse to show off their knees (and in one case, his entire upper torso!).  So, while Scots are known for being frugal, we see October as the one time of year when generosity of both spirit and cash is strongly encouraged and appreciated.  A vote for me is a vote for RMHC!!!
