In June, I will embark on an incredible six day cycling trip through the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. I am part of a committed team consisting of 33 cyclists that will participate in this year's Colorado Ride The Rockiesto help raise money and awareness for the homeless in our community. Our bike team is Team Samaritan House!
Funds raised will benefit five homeless shelters including the Samaritan House in Denver. These shelters provide overnight stay and long-term residence with intensive case management. The ultimate goal of these homeless shelters is to help residents become self-reliant by providing needed individualized assistance.
Ride the Rockies will begin in Carbondale in June 11th and will conclude in Fort Collins on June 17, riding 403 miles and over 30,000 vertical feet. The ride will be physically demanding and undoubtedly there will be some sore muscles. My motivation for this ride is knowing the difference we can make in the lives of those less fortunate. Each dollar raised will truly change the lives of the individuals and families who call these sheltershome. This is a win win for me, I have been awarded the opportunity to ride in the most beautiful place in the world and at the same time help change the lives of those less fortunate than I. All donated funds goes directly to helping the homeless.
May God bless you and thanks in advance for your help in this worthwhile cause!
