I'm running with Faith!
Faith is from Busia county where she lives with her parents, uncles, and siblings. She is a member of the Baluhya tribe and loves participating in their festivals. Her father is an evangelist and her mother is a casual laborer. Oftentimes her parents did not make enough money to provide basic needs for the family, and Faith would go hungry for an entire day. One of the biggest challenges Faith faced growing up was paying for school fees. Throughout primary school, she was consistently sent home because she couldn’t pay school fees equivalent to $3 or less. Despite this, Faith passed the KCPE (Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education). Although she was eligible to attend high school, she lacked the funds. When she learned about Daraja, she prayed each and every day to get accepted. When she got the acceptance call from Daraja, the entire family was ecstatic. Faith is an exceptional student with high hopes for her future. She wants to become a doctor or pursue another career in the medical field. Her favorite activities outside of school are helping the elderly, cleaning the church, and reading the Bible. She is involved in the media club on campus.
