I'm running with Linet!
Linet is the second child in a family of eight. Her parents are both farmers. Where she grew up, it is common for girls to be kept from school and to marry as young as nine years old. Fortunately, before she could be circumcised and married, she was rescued by the Samburu Foundation. Linet was unable to pay for high school until her academic record and leadership ability earned her a scholarship to Daraja Academy. Her goal is to “become a medical doctor and help the many sick people in my life.” She will be able to stand as an example of a strong, educated woman in her village.
