Vinfen's Run-4-Life is back, taking place on September 12 through 13. The adventure will start in Lancaster, NH and will conclude at Hampton Beach. This 200-mile relay course will be run by Vinfen staff in shifts as they raise donations to enhance the health and well-being of the Vinfen community.
Why does Vinfen run for life? The average life expectancy for people with mental health conditions and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities is significantly shorter compared to the general population. This is largely due to treatable medical conditions that are caused by lifestyle risk factors like smoking, obesity, and inadequate access to medical care. The good news is that people can take steps to influence these factors and significantly reduce the likelihood of an adverse health outcome.
By running, we promote awareness and increase funds that support peoples health and wellness. Any funds donated go directly toward developing programs that increase health awareness, encouraging physical activity , providing nutritional education , supporting creative opportunities for exercise and fitness , promoting community involvement and partnerships that support healthy living , and awarding programmatic microgrants.
