Run For Hope

I am running the L.A marathon to help raise money for the Dream Center's Human Trafficking program. Everyday thousands of women are abused and forced into sexual slavery. The Dream Center goes out into the streets of Los Angeles and offers hope to these women. We offer a place of refuge where these women can restore their life and get the help they so desperately need. I am so grateful and thankful for the Dream Center because not only does it help these women it helped me when I was struggling with a 5 year addiction to heroin and methamphetamine. The Dream Center gave me a place of refuge to get my life back on track and learn what having a real relationship with Jesus was all about. Today I can now say I have been sober for 2.5 years by the grace of God. Help be the difference in these women's lives as I Run For Hope. All proceeds will help fund the Dream Center's Human Trafficking program so we can continue to go out into the streets of L.A and rescue these women from sex trafficking. From Addiction to Victory My Story

August 13, 2013 I stepped foot onto the L.A Dream Center's campus, scared, nervous, and confused. I didnt know what to expect but little did I know, I just made the most life changing decision I could ever make. I suffered from a 5 year long addiction to heroin and methampetamine. I did things to my family and friends that I told myself I would never do. In my addiction I lost everything you could have possibly lost. Before coming to the Dream Center my family wanted absolutely nothing to do with me and I was scheduled to go to prison for identify theft. But by the grace of God, the judge allowed me to do the 1-year long program of the Dream Center's discipleship program instead of going to prison. In that 1 year of discipleship my entire life was restored, I learned what it was to have a real true intimate relationship with God, my felonies were dropped, my family was restored and everything the devil tried to steal from me God returned to me plus more. After graduating 1st year of discipleship, God called me to stay a second year and during my second year I was hired on as staff at the Dream Center. I have been clean now for 2.5 years and am currently the manager of the Food Ministry. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to be a part of a place that is making such a huge difference in the world. During my active addiction, My Mother told me, "If you don't go to the Dream Center you're going to either die or overdose" I am so thankful I chose to come to the Dream Center and continuted to be obedient to the Holy Spirit during all the hardships in discipleship, because of that I am the person I am today.
