This Valentine's Day I will be running the LA Marathon- 26.2 miles to help raise money for the Los Angeles Dream Center and their Human Trafficking Program which helps rescue victims. Unfortunately, the trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. This is not only happening worldwide, but in our own backyards with Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco being identified as primary hotspots for human trafficking activity.

  • At least 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide into commercial sexual servitude, forced labor and bonded labor.

  • About 2 million children are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade.

  • Almost 6 in 10 identified trafficking survivors were trafficked for sexual exploitation.

  • Women and girls make up 98% of victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation. 

  • Odds of rescue are 1 in 100

  • The average age of entry into prostitution is 12-14 years of age

The Dream Center's Human Trafficking Program provides women with shelter for safety and instills HOPE and FAITH for their future by offering physical, mental and spiritual restoration.
