Delaware Valley area races

Nemours has recently become a charity partner with several races across the Delaware Valley as well as runDisney! Opportunities include the chance to sign up for these races as part of the #RunNemours team to raise awareness and funds for different Nemours programs and services. For some races, participants will receive guaranteed race entry and other incentives for achieving a fundraising goal. Volunteer opportunities are also available for select races.

For Nemours Associates, this is also a great opportunity to earn Health and Wellness points towards YOUR Health for a Community Benefit Event – and these events directly support Nemours! Macots for a Cure 5K
Saturday, October 12 | Wilmington | 5K  

Help Mascots for a Cure provide HOPE, JOY and LOVE to kids and families battling cancer arming them with the courage and strength they need by registering for Mascot For A Cure 5K! We encourage all participants to dress up like their favorite Delaware/Philadelphia mascot to run this fun event. Live Like Lukas 5K Run & Walk

Join Live Like Lukas at Rockford Park in Wilmington on Saturday, October 12 for the 2nd Annual 5K Run & Walk. Live Like Lukas Inc. was formed in late 2017 after the untimely death of Lukas Kusters, also known as “The Dutch Destroyer”. Live Like Lukas generously support the patients and families in the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. 

 

1st Annual Run for Courage

Inaugural Dragon Run for Courage is the combined efforts of the Conor Mckenna foundation and Jake’s Dragon Foundation. We are combining forces to make a difference in high school senior lives and supporting families fighting pediatric cancer and supplying funds for research!  

 

Delaware Distance Classic  
Sunday, October 13 | Return to the Riverfront | 15K & 5K

Join the Pike Creek Valley Run Club for the 37th Annual Delaware Distance Classic. This year is the "Return to the Riverfront" in Wilmington from the DuPont Educational Environmental Center. The 15K is being run in conjunction with the Delaware Nature Society 5K and shares same registration link. Part of the proceeds from this event will support our kids in the Nemours Orthopedic Center. 

 

 

 

Heart of Hope 5K & 1 Mile Walk

Join Heart of Hope for their 5th Annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk at the Greene Turtle in Newark on Saturday, October 19. Heart of Hope | The Caralynn Titter Foundation provides support and resources to families facing pediatric heart transplants. 

        


Cape May Fright Night 5K & Hallowed Half Marathon
October 25-26 | Cape May, NJ | Half Marathon

Don't miss the hallowed weekend fun at the short with two ways to run hosted by the Cape May Running Company! Join us in support of the Nemours Cardiac Center for the Fright Night 5K or the Hallowed Half Marathon on Saturday  Race begins at the Grand Hotel and travels the ocean shoreline and around the island of Cape May. Chester County Turkey Trot
Thursday, November 28 | Downingtown | Cancer Research

The 18th Annual Chester County Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning, November 28 at Downingtown West High School. The event is a 5k race/walk, a 2K walk, and a kids fun run. The course is flat and incredibly FAST! The course starts at Downingtown West High School and finishes inside of Kottmeyer Stadium. GreenLayer technical running shirts are guaranteed to the first 2,400 registered runners! Proceeds benefit the Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation. Cure4Cam is a continuous supporter of the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Delmarva Dash
April 17-18, 2020 | 200 Miles | Help Kids with Cancer

The Delmarva Dash is a two-day 200-mile team relay race organized by the Delmarva Dash Foundation to benefit the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. A team adventure relay race with a breathtaking purpose, the Delmarva Dash will bring together runners and volunteers, sharing their time, their thoughts and themselves while racing down the Delmarva Peninsula on a spring weekend, all dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support family and friends in the fight against children’s cancer.
