Running for RMHC Kansas City 2021

When you are 27 weeks pregnant, the last thing you want to hear is that your baby will probably arrive in the next few days. On the longer side, it could take a couple weeks.

When we heard that news, we had no idea that Ryland Jo would be arriving in our lives in 4 days. As a new NICU family 75 minutes from our home, the stress built quickly. We were relieved to find out the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City would house us in a hotel. This allowed Michael to continue working in the hotel and be at the hospital whenever he could. Also, Macae could go back and forth from the hospital to the hotel frequently.

After 6 weeks, we were invited to move in to the Bernstein House at RMHC-KC where we would stay for 3 more weeks until Ryland could come home with us.

To have this ability to stay close to Ryland was the biggest blessing our family could ever ask for. We will forever feel indebted to support RMHC-KC to allow other families to stay close to their babies or treatment options, too.

Thanks for supporting us as we complete the KC Marathon 5K (not the real marathon, ha!) to honor "keeping families close!"
