14th Annual Run.Walk.BREATHE. ○ Team Williams
As most of you know, I am now a 10 year lung cancer survivor. You won't meet many people like me because most lung cancer patients don't survive much over 5 years. I have been blessed because mine was found early (early detection) and it was stage 1 (had not spread outside of my lung to other organs).
LCC provides advocacy and education on early detection to the general public as well as the medical community.
LCC also provides "Patient Research Kits" to hospitals free of charge to be given to lung cancer patients at the point of diagnosis. These kits educate on lung cancer in general, its types as well staging. They also provide a list of questions for the patient's first meeting with their Doctor. There are many other forms, calendars, etc. to help the patient and caregiver through the journey of lung cancer treatment.
If you are reading this I am assuming you are going to participate in our RWB. Thank you very much for that. There is, however, a point I need to make. Our RWB is a fundraiser designed to raise funds to support our programs all year. The $35 registration fee only covers our costs to conduct the event. We need everyone to donate money over and above the fee to make this a successful fundraiser.
Thank you very much
