Hello! My name is Anuradha and I am a senior at Padua Academy. Over the next several weeks, I will be raising money for Read Aloud Delaware, a local nonprofit organization that has proudly served children and families since 1983.
Read Aloud Delaware is dedicated to ensuring that every child is read to regularly from birth. The organization provides volunteer-led reading sessions, literacy resources, and advocacy for early childhood education. Programs are designed to foster a love of reading and improve literacy skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. Read Aloud Delaware seeks to empower children and families by promoting literacy, strengthening educational foundations, and inspiring lifelong learning.
The mission of Read Aloud Delaware is very near and dear to my heart. Growing up, my family had the time and resources to read to me, thus instilling my passion for literature. However, not all students have this same opportunity and this is why Read Aloud Delaware is so critical.
On the surface, books are simply collections of words and phrases. In reality, though, books open up our hearts and minds to an entire world of new possibilities. Reading is an avenue for children to expand their imagination. It's a way to travel the world without ever leaving your bedroom. Finally, reading has been shown to improve empathy, memory, and analytical skills.
Read Aloud Delaware quite literally opens up new chapters in students lives. Please consider joining me in my campaign to support Read Aloud's mission. I - along with all those at Read Aloud - would be so grateful for your contribution, no matter its size. Thank you!
