This Week's Teal Spotlight Team is Team Pam
This week in our Teal Spotlight, we are highlighting Team Pam lead by captain Ron Poling. Team Pam was created in memory and honor of Pamela Beden Poling who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2019. Her husband, Ron, was searching for an ovarian cancer charity event and found the Sandy Sprint Sea Isle City event, and the team got involved.
Ron shared the following about his late wife, “Pamela was a remarkable 35-year public school teacher. Her retirement plans included volunteering her time to Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Medford, N.J. as well as helping with the Christian Caring Center in Pemberton. She just wanted to provide service to her community. Three months into retirement Pamela was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. She fought the hard fight for three and a half years. She was so brave and strong. I pray with all my heart that one day I'll be reunited with her.”
Last year Team Pam was made up of a few family members. This year there will again be family members, plus some of Pam’s former co-workers. The team uses email as the primary source of communication to potential team members.
