Bri's Saving Pets Challenge Page!

Welcome to my personal fundraising page and thank you for taking the time to check it out!

A little story about how I got here:

Hello! My name is Bri, I am 24 years old, my pronouns are she/her, and I live in Fort Collins, Colorado with my boyfriend and 2 dogs. I graduated from CSU in 2022 with a Bachelors of Science in Zoology and a minor in Business Administration, in hopes of finding a career where I could make a difference in the world or more specifically in the lives of animals.

I have loved animals from a very young age. I have volunteered and had summer jobs at various humane societies and other shelters, as a dog walker, a cat caretaker, an adoption specialist, a kennel attendant and more. The older I got and the more I got to be around different animals, the more set I was that one day I would have a career working with them. At first, I wanted to be a veterinarian (becuase what middle school age animal lover doesn't want to be a vet) then over the years thought maybe I could be a zookeeper, possibly an animal control officer, or what about a dog trainer...

Back in high school I was the Finance and Fundraising Lead for our 501C3, competitve robotics team, which is where I realized I was kind of into fundraising, events and community outreach. But at the time I knew I wanted to work with animals, so I spent more time focused on science classes like AP Biology and Genetics, because to me this was going to make me more successful in a field working with animals. Even when college came around, in my mind I needed to study animal sciences or zoology because those were the only degrees that could lead to working with animals right? Very wrong.

It wasn't until my junior year of college that I decided what I wanted to do- I absolutely wanted to work for an animal shelter or rescue, but not directly with animals... I wanted to combine my love for animals with that high school interest in fundraising, events and community engagement. I wanted to work on the development side of an animal rescue.

After years of trying to build up a resume, build connections in the community and applying to job after job after job... here I am!  I have the most fulfilling job as the Development Assistant at Animal Friends Alliance, only 4 months in and I couldn't be happier. I get to help with all of our fundraising efforts, other important events, the community outreach we participate in plus so much more. I absolutely adore this organization, our mission, my coworkers and our supporters.  I am so thankful that the Alliance took a chance on me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself as a valuable asset on this team. That being said...

Please consider donating to my 2024 Saving Pets Challenge fundrasing page! As an organization our goal is to raise $175,000, but my personal goal is $2,500, and I need your help to get there! Any amount of money helps us, there is no donation too small. Even just $5 is equivalent to a pack of sticky notes to help us stay organized or a bag of dog treats to keep our shelter pups happy.

Thank you for taking the time to read my little story and for considering donating to this incredible organization! Below is some more information about Animal Friends Alliance and then some pictures of my two dogs, my family dog and my grandpa's dog we recently inheirited. Since this year we went with a school reunion type theme, I thought it would be cute to include silly superlatives for each of my dogs! Enjoy!

If you have any questions or comments at all please reach out to me at brianna.johnson@savinganimalstoday.org or 970-666-7092.

Just a tad bit about Animal Friends Alliance:

Animal Friends Alliance was founded in 2006 as Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue and Grooming. In 2020, the two organizations merged to form Animal Friends Alliance - an adoption-guarantee shelter and subsidized spay & neuter clinic. Since 2006, we have adopted out over 41,000 dogs and cats to loving homes, spayed and neutered over 100,000 dogs and cats between our clinic and shelter, and helped over 5,400 community cats through our Community Cat Program and Adoptions Program.

Donate during our Saving Pets Challenge to help us continue our life-saving work in Northern Colorado and beyond. Here's to 18 and many more years of love!

UPDATE!!! 8/1/24

I had an amazingly generous couple reach out to me and let me know that they were so impressed by my page and they enjoyed looking at all the cute pictures I have posted of my fur babies so much that they wanted their $10,000 donation to be credited to me! This is an INSANE donation that will go so far in helping our organization, the animals we care for and the community that we support! We are all so unbelievably greatful for this donation. That being said- I am raising my personal goal from $2,500 to $15,000, so on top of this $10,000 donation, I still want to raise an additional $5,000 because it all goes back to this amazing organization that I admire so much!

And thanks mom, for being the first donor on my page and my #1 supporter always!
