Saving Pets Challenge during August 2024

Andy and Oats were adopted here and I am also a weekly volunteer.

Hello friends and family!

Andy and Oats were adopted from Animal Friends Alliance in 2022. Oats came from the Bahamas, from a Potcake rescue, to be treated for heartworms at Animal Friends Alliance. Her treatment and flight were paid for with donations. She was placed in a volunteer foster care where she could rest and take her medication before we adopted her. Andy was found wandering the desert, with his two brothers, in New Mexico. Due to overcrowding, he was sent to Animal Friends Alliance where donations paid for his treatment for giardia, his neutering surgery, and all of his vaccines.

I only recently began volunteering at Animal Friends Alliance. My partner and I have been members of the Animal Advocate Club for years and I wanted to do more. I love this organization and can tell I will be volunteering here for a long time. Now on the inside, I see that they do so much for these animals before they are adopted so that they are not put back into another shelter. Behavioral trainers are now donating their time so dogs with behavioral issues are ready for families before they are up for adoption so they don't get stuck in the cycle of rehoming. There are daily playgroups and enrichment activities to keep the dogs active and ready for a new home.

Do you know just $15 can vaccinate four shelter pets?

Animal Friends Alliance was founded in 2006 as Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue and Grooming. In 2020, the two organizations merged to form Animal Friends Alliance - an adoption-guarantee shelter and subsidized spay & neuter clinic. Since 2006, they have adopted out over 41,000 dogs and cats to loving homes, spayed and neutered over 100,000 dogs and cats between the clinic and shelter, and helped over 5,400 community cats through the Community Cat Program and Adoptions Program.

Please donate during the Saving Pets Challenge in August 2024 to help Animal Friends Alliance continue its life-saving work in Northern Colorado and beyond. Here's to 18 – and many more – years of love!
