Welcome to Sydney's Fundraising Page!
Hello Friends!
My name is Sydney, I'm the Animal Care Volunteer Coordinator here at Animal Friends Alliance! I've been working in nonprofits for about 8 years, 5 of those have been in animal wefare, and I'm honored to be a part of the team here at Alliance! In my role, I’m responsible for coordinating our shelter volunteers with a focus on mindful animal handling, education, and volunteer appreciation.
Thank you for helping us reach one of our biggest yearly fundrasing goals :)

✨If you donate to my page:
I'm happy to offer my personal donors a tour of our shelter to visit with our animals and see how our work is done behind the scenes! I love getting to show people how meanigful their donations are! If you are in the NOCO area and would like a tour as a 'thank you' for your donation, please reach out to me at sydney.edwards@savinganimalstoday.org
Not in the NOCO area? I'm happy to answer any questions you have about our organization by email!
With your generosity, our program can keep saving lives:
When I first joined the Alliance as the Animal Care Volunteer Coordinator in 2022, the idea of working with 600+ volunteers across a brand-new campus felt overwhelming. Coming from a tiny cat shelter in Wyoming, where one volunteer a day was often enough, this was a whole new world!
What I found here was something truly special.
From the very start, I was welcomed into a community of deeply committed, knowledgeable, and compassionate volunteers. Our Alliance volunteers do far more than just walk dogs or clean cat rooms, they create a culture that makes this shelter a place of hope and healing for all who come to us.
Your donation directly fuels the programming that allows this powerful volunteer community to do what they do best: saving lives - today, tomorrow, and every day.
Can't donate but still want to help?

- Learn about local resorces, legislation, and programming to better advocate for animals in your community!
- Follow us on Facebook! We earn money when followers simply like/share/comment on our Facebook page!
- Tell a shelter worker or animal care professional in your life "Thank you!" ... there is so much invisible emotional labor and trauma involved in animal care work spaces, feeling seen and supported helps keep our humans going in a very challenging and emotional field of work.
About the Saving Pets Challenge:
We're fundraising for Animal Friends Alliance, a nonprofit that’s been saving lives and spreading love since 2006. What started as two separate rescues—Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic and Animal House Rescue and Grooming—became one fabulous force for good in 2020. Now they’re an adoption-guarantee shelter and affordable spay/neuter clinic helping animals in Northern Colorado and beyond.
Since their humble beginnings, Animal Friends Alliance has found loving homes for over 41,000 dogs and cats, spayed and neutered more than 100,000 pets (because we don’t do accidental litters OR unnecessary drama), and helped over 5,400 community cats live safely outdoors.
Join us in supporting this amazing cause—and let’s give these Real Housepets the spotlight they deserve.
Caelum!
This was my favorite shy pup the past year! I loved letting him spend time at my desk where we saw him come out of his shell, start wagging his tail, and even crawling into people's laps!
Celebrating healthcare workers!
Puppy power to the rescue! We stopped by UC Health with some furry friends to bring smiles and stress relief to hardworking healthcare heroes.
Dog Date!
We take "Dog Dates" out to community outreach events to visit people and encourage conversations about fostering and adopting! This is tootsie and me at Loveland Aleworks! He was a darling boy!
Spreading the word!
While many people know us for our sheltering and adoptions, we use community outreach opportunities to also talk with people about the importance or spay and neuter as well as its accessibility through our subsidized clinic, our food pantry to support already owned animals, and our affordable dog behavior and compassionate end of life services!
Cat Person Turned Dog Enthusiast
One of my favorite classes to teach to our volunteers is our advanced dog handling course (which we call Purple Level!) - despite being a cat person at heart, I've come to love working with dogs and learning about sheltering practices to better serve them!
Helping Barney find a home
Barney, one of our adoptable dogs this past year, joined me on a trip to Greeley Aleworks where he met a ton of new people!
Happy Valentines Day!
Kaytlin, the program manager and I, host a yearly Valentines appreciation event for our volunteers!
Getting a second chance
We’re incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of veterinarians and medical staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Thanks to their skill and compassion, we’re able to save lives! Young puppies taking their first breaths, little kittens struggling to thrive, and senior animals who need a little more support... they are all getting a second chance! The work is nothing short of lifesaving, and your support makes it all possible. (This little baby bean is being fostered by Matthew Speer! Go check out his page!)
No "Us vs Them" Mentality!
At our shelter, we believe in the power of teamwork and compassion among all volunteers and organizations. United by a shared purpose of rescuing and homing animals, we advocate for both dogs and cats with equal love. Every life deserves a fair chance, and we’re committed to finding safe, happy homes where our adoptable animals can truly thrive.
Dedicated to finding loving homes!
Every Saturday, compassionate volunteers pour their hearts into hosting adoption events at PetSmart so that our puppies and kittens in foster care can find the loving homes they deserve. We provide our foster families with everything they need to nurture these young lives, but we can’t do it without you! Your donation ensures these animals are fed, cared for, and given the chance to grow up safe, healthy, and loved.
Why transferring to Colorado SAVES LIVES
Every week, we welcome puppies from overcrowded shelters in other states - places where their future was uncertain. Because of your generosity, they arrive in Colorado to a second chance at life, love, and a happy home. Thank you for being the reason hope travels across state lines!
