Hi there... my name is Cameroon, and, well… I’ve been through a lot.
 

I’m here today because of compassion. Because people like you support Animal Friends Alliance.

Back in July of 2024, I was surrendered to a place called Animal Friends Alliance. I was scared and I did what any frightened kitty would do: I hid. For months, I stayed curled up in my cubby at the shelter, hissing at whoever came close. I wasn't making any progress.

Then... she came. A kind woman who just sat quietly, letting me decide when I was ready. Visit after visit, she kept showing up. Slowly, I began to trust. I let her pet me. I peeked out from the cubby. One day, I even stepped out and cuddled with her on the floor. I started to believe I might be safe. 

But, I was adopted by a stranger and then abandoned. I was left outside to fend for myself for 5 weeks. By the time I was found, I was emaciated, covered in wounds, and suffering from a dangerous stomach blockage caused by eating plastic from just trying to survive. I was on the brink of liver failure.

Thanks to their incredible veterinary team, and donors who make their work possible, I received emergency surgery, intensive care, and a chance to heal. And even more than that, I found my home with that kind woman from before who never gave up on me.  She hadn’t forgotten me.

I’m alive today because someone believed I was worth saving.

Now, I go by Cammy. I sleep next to my favorite person every night, get zoomies playing with all my toys, and know, deep in my heart, that I am finally home.

I wouldn’t have made it without Animal Friends Alliance and neither would so many others like me. They gave me not just a second chance, but a new life. Please, help them continue their lifesaving work. Because every scared, broken-hearted cat deserves to find the love I finally did.
