Katniss’ Journey: From Oklahoma to Home

Katniss’ story started all the way in Oklahoma, but her heart was clearly meant to be here with me. The very first time I laid eyes on her, something just clicked—I knew I had to bring her home. She was placed on a couple of adoption holds, and during that time, I kept visiting her. Every time I walked into her kennel, she would rush over to me, pawing for attention and jumping up as if asking for a hug. It was like she already knew, too.

When those holds were finally released, I couldn't let another day pass. I brought my dogs to meet her, and the moment was nothing short of perfect. They got along beautifully—and that same day, Katniss came home for good.

Now, nearly a year later, I can honestly say she’s changed my life. Katniss is the sweetest, most friendly dog you could ever meet. She loves everyone—dogs, people, even strangers on the street. Her joy is infectious, and she makes me the happiest person in the world.
