I have been taking karate classes at Thousand Waves for almost 4 years now and it has been a really great experience. Thousand Waves is made up of a wonderful community of people and also has a strong commitment to both the prevention of violence and to helping people learn to defend themselves. They especially reach out to those who most need it. One example of this is ASK which stands for Assisted Seido Karate and is a program in which children who have disabilities are able learn karate. Additionally Thousand Waves has a scholarship fund so that people who want to take karate but are unable to afford it are still able to train at Thousand Waves!
