Discover Downtown

This is not your ordinary fundraiser.

If you enjoy fun competition with a purpose, this event is for you! Teams will explore Downtown New Rochelle, solve clues, and capture team photos in this 2 hour scavenger hunt—all while raising donations to support the New Rochelle Public Library. It’s a scavenger hunt and so much more!

WHAT YOUR DONATIONS SUPPORT

• Help ensure that children in our community are ready to succeed in school and life through reading readiness, homework support, socialization and academic success;
• Help to connect teens to an enhanced Library Teen Center offering digital media technology, 3-D printing, gaming, and a safe place to hang out;
• Help to provide families with opportunities to become economically stable through the resources of the Library’s Handelman Business Center;
• Help to connect our senior population to social activities and lifelong learning programs, and navigate available services, including Medicare, tax preparation and job counseling

On SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 2025, the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation (the “Foundation”) will engage its donors and the New Rochelle community at large in an innovative FUNdraising event that is interactive, competitive and fun in support of the New Rochelle Public Library (“NRPL”).

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO JOIN IN THE FUN: CREATE OR JOIN A TEAM; SPONSOR A TEAM OR BE AN EVENT SPONSOR; OR JOIN US TO CELEBRATE AT THE AWARDS CEREMONY AFTER PARTY.

Teams will compete to solve as many clues as possible within two hours. Clues will lead teams to unique Downtown New Rochelle locations where they will complete tasks and upload photos. Points are earned as teams satisfy clues. The team that completes the hunt within two hours and has the most points wins!

The hunt will begin with a kick-off ceremony at the NRPL to welcome all participants, distribute event T-shirts, and explain the rules. All teams will download the clues at the same time, watches will be synchronized and the hunt will begin!

All teams will return to the Library no later than 2 hours after the start of the hunt for an Awards Ceremony, live music, light refreshments and lots of laughs.

TIME:
Teams gather at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Instructions will be distributed, watches synchronized, hunt items downloaded and the hunt will begin at 4 p.m. Teams have not-a-second-later than 6 p.m. to return to the Library.

New Rochelle Public Library, Lawton Street, New Rochelle.
