Long before I started mountain guiding in 2004 I've been relying on the Mount Washington Observatory to inform me of the expected weather conditions before hiking, climbing, skiing, and teaching avalanche courses on Mount Washington and the greater Presidential Range. Checking the Higher Summits Forecast and Current Conditions web pages is a daily ritual for me, even if I'm not headed up on the rockpile. I've had the good fortune to ride in the MWOBS snowcat and have spent a half dozen or so nights on the summit as a guest on Climbing EduTrips. Every interaction I've had with any employee or volunteer of the organization has been super positive. The amount of businesses that rely on the work they do on the summit (basically every outdoor adventure company and ski resort in the state) is far-reaching.
My family will be hiking on July 20th to raise money for this incredible organization and we would love for you to support us in this cause.
