Seek the Peak is Mount Washington Observatory's largest annual fundraiser. During the past 24 years, thousands of hikers have taken to the trails on or around Mount Washington in mid-July during Seek the Peak weekend, showing their love of the Northeast’s highest peak and raising vital support for the observatory. This peer-to-peer fundraiser fuels a significant portion of the Obs’ annual budget, supporting our work in mountain meteorology, climate, and education, and brings together hiking enthusiasts in an inspiring setting at the doorstep of the northern Presidential Range.
Year after year we hear from our participants that gathering with other supporters of Mount Washington Observatory is their favorite part of the event. In 2023, we hope to enhance this community-building by offering our "Hike and Make Friends" registration option, which welcomes participants of all levels to be matched with other hikers looking for companionship on the trail.
Seek the Peak is an incredible way to experience the special camaraderie that unites the supporters of Mount Washington Observatory. We encourage you to join our participants by registering today!
