In July of 2025 I'll be participating in the 25th annual Seek the Peak, a hiking fundraiser in support of the legendary non-profit Mount Washington Observatory. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support my endeavor.

This is my third Seek the Peak, and my second time as a Seek the Peak Steward! I rely on the MWOBs Higher Summits forecast and Current Summit Conditions details for safety in planning my hikes. This will be my fourth season as a Trailhead Steward with the US Forest Service, and in this volunteer role I rely on the Higher Summits Forecast to give hikers the best available information for planning their day. In August 2024 I was honored to be an MWOBs summit volunteer - I got to spend a week living at the observatory and supporting the staff.  During that week I saw 3 beautiful sunrises, 2 gorgeous sunsets, the Milky Way stretching up and over Mt Washington from horizon to horizon, and theNorthen Lights!! I met Nimbus, and we agreed that he doesn't really like me because I am a dog person.  Ah well. LOL. What a week!!  MWOBs is a key part of outdoor recreation in the White Mountains and I couldn't have wonderful adventures without them.  I am therefore incredibly happy to be part of this annual fundraising event!

Due to the generosity of supporters like you, the nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory has been observing and reporting on Mount Washington’s infamous conditions for 90+ years from their mountaintop weather station, maintaining one of North America's longest continuous climate records. The data they collect is utilized in forecasting models, weather reports, landmark climate research and educational outreach. The free daily forecasts that the Observatory provides are an essential resource for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors in New Hampshire's White Mountains and beyond.
