These unique Seek the Peak T-shirts were inspired by the rime ice surf photos posted on MWOBS social media this past winter (see our team members' profile photos). Rime ice is a phenomenon that occurs on Mount Washington that forms when the summit is in the fog and temperatures are below freezing. Under these conditions, the liquid water droplets that make up the fog are super cooled and freeze on contact with structures and objects on the summit. The unique rime formation shown in the t-shirt design resembled a wave, so weather observers pretented to surf on the ice.
