We’re the FUNcasters, the team that forecasts fun while supporting the Obs mission. As MWOBS's External Affairs team, we spend our days planning events, collaborating with the media to share the Observatory’s research and stories, engaging with members, supporting our volunteer community, and talking about the extraordinary work of this organization to everyone we meet—near and far. Now, we're taking that energy to Seek the Peak—and we’re aiming high!
Why $7,231?
Our goal isn’t just a random number. It’s a nod to the Observatory's history:
- 231 mph – The record-setting wind speed measured at the Observatory on April 12, 1934.
- $7,231 – Because we’re setting our sights higher than the Forecasters (Observer teams) fundraising goal. No pressure, right?
With your support, we’ll hit our goal and help sustain the Observatory’s vital work in weather and climate research. Can you help us reach $7,231?
Support our team and be part of the FUN as we take on the Forecasters in some friendly competition for a great cause!
Why Donate to Our Team?
We're giving a special shout-out on stage at Seek the Peak to any supporters who donate $100 or more to our team—because, well, we're the ones running the show!
