Jackson is an amazing young man that has suffered the last few years with an awful illness that has changed his life.  The happy boy who played soccer, played on the beach, ran and played outside, now struggles to walk out of the house and go everyday places in public without medication.  PANS has given him anxiety that keeps him from enjoying most things that kids his age love.  At the same time, it also causes him to have inflammation in his body that brings daily pain and aches.  On his worst days, he sobs and says he doesn't want to live anymore with PANS.  Jennifer, his mom, has been fighting for him with other moms on the board of the Southesastern PANS/PANDAS Association (SEPPA).  SEPPA has come so far having resolutions passed for October 9th to be the PANs Awareness day in Georgia and other states in the Southeast, representing at conferences across the Southeast, educating physicians and families with meetings and packets of information, and most importantly to our family, working with our state legislators to make changes for healthcare coverage.  The saddest part about this illness is that there is a treatment for it, but insurance won't cover it and it runs about $20,000 a month.
