WELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
Never Alone Cancer Foundation is proud to partner with the Manitoba Paddling Association to host The September Dragon Boat Festival! This fabulous and fun event takes place on Sunday, September 8th at The Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Centre, 80 Churchill Drive. Dragon boating is one of Winnipeg's most popular summer events, and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of it!
The festival is a FUNdraiser for the Never Alone Cancer Foundation, a Winnipeg based not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing emotional, financial, and informational support to patients, families and caregivers affected by cancer. Many people do not realize the financial hardships that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Without benefits, a cancer diagnosis leaves many unable to work or even care for their children because they are too ill. No one should ever have to make the decision between groceries or the cost of gas and parking to get to their treatments.
All funds raised stay in Manitoba to help cancer patients and their families. We suggest each team raise a minimum of $1,500, just $150 per paddler, to help cancer patients in our community.

The top 8 Fundraising Teams are recognized in a special feature race, which is the highlight of the festival!
The super fun and safe oval pursuit-style race course has something for everyone from first-time paddlers to the most experienced and with just 10 paddlers and a drummer needed (we'll supply the steersperson if needed), getting a team together has never been easier!
With instruction and race supervision by the Manitoba Paddling Association, safety is a top priority. Boats, paddles, and personal floatation devices will be provided, so register your team and get ready for fun! Registration includes two practice sessions scheduled during the four weeks prior to the event.
