Thanks for visiting my Miracle in a Meal personal fundraiser to support Serving Seniors this #GivingTuesday!

For my family, the holidays always means sharing a meal.  There is abundance of laughter, smiles and of course, food!  Treasured and joyful moments to cherish.  We feel safe and secure in the warmth of our family.

There are seniors in San Diego where the holiday is not joyful or sometime to remember.  Just finding a meal may be challenging.  At Serving Seniors, providing meals is our entry point to Serving Seniors to  life-changing services and can be the difference of keeping a senior housed or living on the streets.  Feeling safe and secure or vulnerable.

Patty is one of these seniors. Patty dedicated her life to helping those in need. She was a working, single mom and foster parent to abused and neglected children. Then in one swoop, economic hardship left Patty on the brink of homelessness at 77 years old. Receiving home-delivered meals has kept her healthy and strong "I LOVE all the veggies!" And she was able to get rental assistance to keep her from becoming homeless.

"I couldn't live here without the support from Serving Seniors. I feel safe here. The work you do is great. I've been blessed!"

And it started with a meal.

The cost of a meal is $4, and that single meal can lead to a life forever changed, just like Patty's.
