2026 Cher for SHARE Fundraiser

The First Annual Cher for SHARE Event was last November and was a huge success. This year's event will be even more special and will feature a Cher impersonator, music, dancing, networking, food, drinks, and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the SHARE Center and the people they serve. We hope to see you there!

2025 Cher for SHARE

35 Years of the SHARE Center

The SHARE Center is celebrating its 35th Anniversary! What started out as a small group of people wanting to help others with their recovery has grown into an organization that serves over 1,800 people each year including over 300 seniors, 200 veterans, and 100 children. We could not do it without the support we get from the community!

Located at 120 Grove Street in Battle Creek,. MI., the SHARE Center works with clients to meet basic needs, remove barriers, and stabilize income and housing. This holistic approach has proven to an effective way to move people from crisis to stability.

Meeting basic needs helps our clients focus more of their limited resources on longer-term needs like housing.  In 2025, we served over 51,000 meals, provided more than 15,000 hygiene supplies, did over 650 loads of laundry, and provided more than 1,800 showers. Additionally, we served as an emergency overnight shelter last winter for 154 people.

If we do not remove barriers, we are not truly setting our clients up for long-term success. We provide peer recovery coaching, numerous support groups, and enrichment activities to help people overcome barriers related to trauma, poor mental health, and/or addiciton. Our Peer Recovery Coach had over 100 clients last year. Additionally, we provided 577 bus passes, 63 vital records, 92 state IDs, and 63 cell phones. Not having these items can be a huge barrier to employment, housing, and services.

Maximizing income helps our clients qualify for housing and obtain stability. Our Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) helps clients with employment and navigating the system of care. Last year, our clients saw an average increase of $1,323 in monthly income after working with our CHW for three months. In 2025, he had over 250 open cases. Considering the absence of affordable housing, it is remarkable that he was able to get 23 of his clients securely housed.
