When I was in 8th grade, I was paried with my own Big, Kelly. In a time where lots of things were changing and the world seemed so big, Kelly was a constant that helped to ground me and show me that I can accomplish anything. Because of her help and guidance, I felt supported and confident as I navigated the world aorund me. Kelly was ultimately the reason that I felt that I was able to attend and graduate from college, something no one in my family had ever done. Being in such a foreign enviornment was scary, but I knowing Kelly was there made it so much more approachable.

I didn't realize it as a timit 14 year old, but having a mentor was the single most impactful experience I have had to date. Because of this, I have dedicated my education and career to helping others receive the same support and guidance that I received from her. I believe everyone deserves to know the positive impact of mentorship, and I hope you will join me in supporting the incredible agency that I have the privilage of being a part of. 

As I begin my own journey as a Big, I am so grateful to have a perfect example of what mentorship means. She has shown me that being a Big is more than just mentoring. It’s about being a cheerleader, a listener, a teacher, and most importantly, a friend. It’s about standing beside our Littles and cheering them on through every milestone, challenge, and success.

Right now, we have 1,000 youth eagerly waiting for mentors like our Bigs. That’s 1,000 lives ready to be changed, 1,000 opportunities to build connections that last a lifetime. These young people are full of potential, and they’re looking for someone who will believe in them, support them, and help guide them toward a brighter future. Our Bigs are stepping up—but we need even more people like them to meet this urgent need!
