We’re Heather and Tristen, a Big Couple with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. We were matched with our Little earlier this year, and it’s quickly become one of the best parts of our week. He’s smart, funny, and full of energy, the kind of kid who reminds you how good it feels to just have fun and try new things. Whether we’re doing something active or just hanging out and talking, we always walk away feeling like we learned something from each other.

We joined Big Brothers Big Sisters because we both know how important it is for kids to have consistent support and someone in their corner. This program builds those connections and creates space for kids to grow, gain confidence, and see what’s possible for their future. The organization provides us resources and guidance to make sure that support is steady and meaningful.

We’re fundraising because we want more kids in our community to have the same chance our Little has: a mentor, a relationship they can count on, and a place to feel supported. There are over 1,000 youth in Central Indiana waiting for mentors right now — kids who are ready for encouragement, consistency, and a relationship they can count on. Every donation helps create and sustain matches like ours, and it truly makes a difference.
