At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, every Big brings something special to the table. For me, that something looks a lot like a plate of street tacos, a couple of happy dogs, and a shared high-five after a Pacers win.
Being matched with my Little, Josh, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Whether we’re hanging out with my dogs, hunting down the best taco trucks in town, or diving into his newfound love for our local sports teams, every moment we spend together is about more than just fun...it’s about connection, growth, and showing up for each other.
Josh is curious, kind, and full of potential. Watching him light up when he talks about wanting to see Tyrese Haliburton back on the court or tries to explain Roblox to me reminds me why mentorship matters. I definitely don't have all the answers, but I focus on being present, being consistent, and being someone who believes in the journey.
Right now, over 1,000 youth in Central Indiana are waiting for someone to believe in them the way I believe in Josh. They’re waiting for someone to show up, share a laugh, and help them see just how bright their future can be.
