Ian McFatridge

Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’d love to share a little about my experience as a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. My Little, Nathan, and I have been matched since November 2022, and over the last few years I’ve had the privilege of being his mentor, teacher, listener, and friend.

Thanks to generous donations, Nathan and I have been able to enjoy so many meaningful experiences together. These include attending Pacers and Colts games, taking crafting classes, exploring the Children’s Museum, and shooting hoops at the YMCA. These experiences have helped strengthen our bond, and they’ve given Nathan opportunities to grow, explore, and build confidence.

Beyond the fun outings, I’ve also had the chance to support Nathan in ways that matter for his future. This past year, we worked together on writing his very first resume, and I helped him secure his first job. We've also been able to volunteer together with the local food pantry where he was able to learn about serving local food-insecure families with dignity and compassion. Watching him take those steps toward independence and grow into an altruistic young man has been one of the most rewarding parts of being his Big.

A little about Nathan: he’s a senior at Ben Davis High School with big goals ahead. He hopes to attend Indiana University and study business at the Kelley School of Business. He loves action movies, soccer, track, and cross-country, and he dreams of playing collegiate soccer one day.
