When I first joined MAC Midwest, I knew I was stepping into an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of autism. What I didn’t know was how profoundly I would be changed by the experience myself.
Every day, I have the privilege of seeing the bravery of our learners, the fierce love of their families, and the unwavering commitment of our staff. I’ve watched parents cling to hope during some of the hardest moments of their lives, and I’ve seen the joy on a child’s face when they find their voice or master a new skill for the first time. These moments remind me that what we do at MAC isn’t just therapy, it’s life-changing work that opens doors to connection, independence, and belonging.
Our organization is more than a group of people; it’s a community. It’s the staff member who just in to help the moment extra support is needed, the parent who cheers on every child as if they were their own, and the learners themselves, who teach us every day about courage, resilience, and joy.
Raising money for Shine for MAC isn’t just part of my job... it’s a privilege. I’m passionate about ensuring every child and family who walks through our doors has access to the compassionate and quality support they deserve. The funds raised through Shine go directly to programs that give our learners the chance to thrive and help families feel less alone on their journey.
