The Importance of Roller Derby in My Life

I discovered the Seattle Derby Brats in the fall of 2013 and experienced my first year as a derby on the Poison Skid'les, where I cultivated relationships I hope to carry with me for years to come. Beyond that, I learned a tremendous amount about sportsmanship, self-discipline, and confidence. Through the sport, I was physically challenged as an athlete in a fun, empowering environment unlike anything else offered for my peers.

This league in particular was influential to helping me become the person I am today and it is incredibly important to me that it can run smoothly for my little sister after me and all of the young girls that will follow her.

Donations assist our nonprofit with things like track time for practices and bouts, jerseys, on-site medics, and fun events like league celebrations and team bonding.
