Sarah and I experienced a miscarriage at 10 weeks after several months of trying . After a DNC procedure we began trying again without any luck . Eventually we ended up doing several fertility treatments that were not working . IVF became our last option . It was a long process but it worked ! We met Everett for the first time at the 6 week ultrasound. The flicker of his little heart was a day I will never forget . Fast forward to 24 weeks we had a echocardiogram that found a restriction in an artery in his heart that if did not improve , would end in heart failure. The medical team made some medication adjustments and diet restrictions and we closely monitored Everett twice a week for a month or more . Each appointment it improved to the point we were cleared to not need any further echocardiograms but still went in every week for a biophysical ultrasound. Each week we got to see little buddy and he was growing and thriving . At 39 weeks we were scheduled to have him induced . On Monday 2/13/2017 we went in for our final ultrasound to learn there was no heartbeat. Everett was moving and kicking the night before . Nothing was out of the ordinary . It was a complete shock and on that day our world changed forever . Later that evening he was delivered via cesarean section. Everett was 7lbs 15oz . He was the most perfect little boy I ever saw . On that day a piece of our hearts and souls went to heaven with him . I still wake up most days wondering if this is still real life .
