Dr. Thomas leads Colorado Springs School District 11 (D11) as Superintendent of Schools, and is beginning his third year. D11 serves approximately 26,000 students in 55 elementary, middle, and high schools. D11 had the strongest engagement in the district’s history to develop a comprehensive strategic plan engaging over 1500 individuals, and currently Dr. Thomas is engaging the community on a comprehensive academic master plan and facilities improvement plan. When asked about his decision to begin his tenure with these actions, he stated, “I am interested in building a district for the future. As the oldest district in Colorado Springs, we need staying power as our city continues to grow and fundamentally becomes a new Colorado Springs!”
Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado has been hard at work adapting to the changes in the way they deliver programs to our students. No matter how students are learning, JA can and will be there to inspire and prepare students to be the future leaders in our community. Virtual volunteers are eager and ready to present lessons on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Tell your story here! Your supporters will want to know about you and why you’re fundraising for this cause.
