Join team Eileen In for the 2020 Chicago Polar Plunge on Sunday, March 1st for the 20th Annviersary! Take the challenge and jump in Lake Michigan for Special Olympics Chicago! All are welcome to join us, whether you go knee deep, waist high, or take the full plunge. 

This will be the second year Team Eileen In takes the plunge.  We hope to have more plungers, raise more money and make lots of memories.  Last year was an incredible first year and we only hope to build on our success and continue this special tradition.  

Our team was created in honor of Eileen Schaefers.  Eileen has Down Syndrome and will be 4 years old in January.  She is the heart and soul (and glasses) of Team Eileen In. The name came about after the phrase – leaning in.  To lean in (to something) to incline or press into something. You have to lean into the wind when you walk or you will be blown over. When you are faced with difficulties or challenges, rise up and embrace them…lean in.  

So come on, be #FREEZINFORAREASON and support the 7,500+ special olympians who lean in everyday and compete year-round in the city of Chicago. All funds raised will benefit the Special Olympics Chicago athletes, covering program costs such as transportation, sports equipment, team uniforms and food. Through your participation, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities and success.
