Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 2020 Polar Plunge!  I will be plunging into Lake Michigan on March 1st to help raise money for this wonderful organization and to support my great friends Scott and Colleen Schaefers and their beautiful daughter, Eileen.

Eileen was born with Down Syndrome, and although she has had to overcome several challenges during the last four years, she has done so because of her own fight and determination and the continous love and support from her mom and dad, brothers and sister, grandparents, family members, doctors and nurses, and countless other friends.  Eileen has been blessed with so much love surrounding her, and she has an amazing future ahead of her.  Thanks to the Special Olympics, Eileen will have the opportunity to compete in Olympic-type sports, giving her the opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with her family and other Special Olympic athletes.  

You may have heard of the saying "lean in."  To "lean in" means to to grab opportunities without hesitation.  The motto of our polar plunge team is "Eileen In."  Eileen and her parents have leaned into every challenge with grace, tenacity, love and faith.  Thank you for donating to Team Eileen In and for supporting Eileen and the Special Olympics!

Join us for the 2020 Chicago Polar Plunge presented by Jackson on Sunday, March 1st for the 20th Anniversary! Take the challenge and jump in Lake Michigan for Special Olympics Chicago! All are welcome to join us, whether you go knee deep, waist high, or take the full plunge. 

Be #FREEZINFORAREASON and support the 7,500+ special olympians who compete year-round in the city of Chicago. All funds raised will benefit the Special Olympics Chicago athletes, covering program costs such as transportation, sports equipment, team uniforms and food. Through your participation, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities and success.
