Why I am Participating:
You may have met me before at Isabella’s Italian Trattoria, a neighborhood restaurant in Lynchburg that my husband and I own and manage. We have lived in Lynchburg, my home town, for over 26 years and love our community! Our daughter is a graduate of E C Glass and now Virginia Tech pursuing her passions and paving her career path.
My fundraising for Breast Cancer Treatment, Research, and Awareness has had me travel many miles on foot so the invitation to participate in the “Sole Stars” campaign is a perfect fit for me! I have trained for and walked the Susan G Komen 3Day Event (a 60 mile fundraising walk) with a team of wonderful friends twice in Florida and once in California, I have walked with a team for a 15 mile Event in Abingdon Virginia and I have participated in the “Big Wig” campaign fundraising for SWVA Komen.
Although I have not had to fight my own battle with breast cancer, I have a number of friends and co-workers who have. Every year that number increases. I wanted to participate in the Sole Stars so I could help the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation reach its goal which is to eradicate breast cancer.
I am honored to have been asked to represent the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation in the Sole Stars Campaign. I hope you will consider a donation to the cause and my “Sole Star” campaign.

What is a Sole Star?
The Sole Stars campaign engages leaders in our communities as representatives in the fight against breast cancer. During the month-long campaign, each Sole Star will raise or give a minimum of $1,000, which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) 100% of funds raised remain in Virginia to help Virginians and to fund our local breast cancer initiatives.
Sole (noun): the undersurface of a shoe; the sole is meant to provide footwear with the necessary support, giving traction and protection from the surfaces it will be in contact with.
Star (noun): a celebrated, prominent or distinguished person; synonym: VIP · (very) important person.
VBCF Sole Star (noun): a very important person providing support for our mission to eradicate breast cancer by raising awareness and funds in their community and providing traction for our mission; willing to have fun while wearing awesome pink shoes!
