Why We are Participating:
Melinda and Jordan Kantor (Mother-Daughter Duo) are excited to participate in the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation Sole Stars fundraiser.
Melinda witnessed the devastation of patients who were diagnosed with cancer in her original career of radiologic technology. After many years, Melinda switched careers and used her passion of helping others by opening Skin Care Consulting, Inc in 2004. Using her education degree, she teaches her clients the importance of skin health and her hunger for continuing education pushed her to train in permanent cosmetic tattooing.
Melinda’s oldest daughter Jordan, graduated from VCUarts in 2015 with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking. While in college, Jordan felt an overwhelming desire to use her artistic talents on a living canvas to help others feel more confident in their own skin. Immediately after graduation, Jordan joined her mother in business. This team has received training from the leading cosmetic tattooers in the world. Using her eye for detail, Jordan tattoos individual simulated hair strokes into the brow area to create natural looking eyebrows and offers 3D areola tattooing/scar camouflage for breast cancer survivors. This type of cosmetic tattoo is the last step in a woman’s journey in breast reconstruction for those faced with having a mastectomy.
They have been deeply affected by the number of clients who have faced the diagnosis of cancer and have found that the trauma of diagnosis is not only physical, but mental, emotional and spiritual. Having built their business with the reputation of compassion and education, Melinda and Jordan are always willing to listen, make suggestions/referrals, wipe tears and share laughter.
